CES 2005: The Next Big Thing
ViewSonic takes aim at gamers
January 6, 2005; 2:42 p.m.
ViewSonic VP191b
The product: LCDs with blistering-fast response times have finally arrived, and the VP191b is one of ViewSonic's first LCDs to hit the 8ms mark. This 19-inch display should satisfy even the most hard-core CRT aficionados with its impressive features, which include support for HD content (720p) and a high, 800:1 contrast ratio. The LCD also sports both digital and dual VGA connectors. Additional specs include:
  • 1,280x1,024 native resolution
  • 170-degree viewing angles
The price: The nicely priced VP191b will sell for a modest $549. At this cost, we expect to see this monitor in high demand.

The prospects: Nineteen-inch LCDs have become the norm, and ViewSonic's VP191b is raising the performance bar with its impressive specs and affordable price.
