Humax's TV/TiVo/DVD-R:
the ultimate combination January 6, 2005; 5:45 p.m.
![]()
The product: Humax's LT2650 takes combination products to a new level. This 26-inch flat-panel LCD HDTV also includes all of the functionality of the DRT800 TiVo-powered DVD recorder. Its built-in 80-hour hard drive can dump recorded TV shows to DVD with ease, and a single remote controls everything via TiVo's easy-to-use interface. A full range of inputs and outputs lets you integrate it into any system, although the LT2650 itself is extremely self-contained.The price:The LT2650 will sell for about $2,499. The prospects: People looking for lots of functionality in a bedroom-size TV are the natural audience for the LT2650. Humax's line of TiVo-powered DVD-R/hard disk recorders have performed well in the past, although the high price of this unit (especially when you factor in TiVo service) means it's not for everyone.
