The product: Traveling to far-off (or nearby) locales is always fun and exciting, but getting there isn't always easy. Sanyo hopes to alleviate some of that pain with its NV-E7500, a DVD-based GPS-navigation and multimedia-entertainment system. On the GPS side, Sanyo includes a DVD loaded with maps of North America and voice-guided directions. Need to entertain the antsy kids in the backseat or yourself once you get to your destination? The NV-E7500 has you covered there too, since you can use it as a DVD player or a CD/CD-R/CR-RW music player. Other highlights include:

• 7-inch touch-screen TFT LCD monitor (336,960 pixels)
• Included wireless remote control, two sets of wireless headphones, and vehicle mounting bracket
• 2D/3D map display

The price: The Sanyo NV-E7500 will be available in the second quarter of 2005 for $1,499.99.

The prospects: We love two-for-one deals, and the Sanyo NV-E7500's GPS and DVD combo shows great promise for travelers. We're looking forward to getting our hands on this device and taking it for a test-drive.
