The product: It seems like every new PC shows up with media capability, making video image quality more and more important for the home desktop. With the release of ATI's new TV Wonder Elite TV tuner card, you can now enhance the video output of any PC that has a free PCI slot, thanks to the Elite's use of ATI's Theater 550 Pro video processor. The new chip is one of the first components in a new generation of PC video technology designed to clean up the thus far lackluster video image on your computer, making your PC a more viable home entertainment device. The price: $149 The prospects: As media PCs proliferate, their ability to output quality video images is becoming extremely important. ATI is one of the first companies to market an advanced retail part that addresses this problem, and with the company's comparatively longtime experience in multimedia PC products, we expect that consumers and system builders will be very enthusiastic about the TV Wonder Elite and other products using the Theater Pro 550 chip.
