Samsung M8000

The U.S. got its first look at Samsung's mobile Wi-Max phone, the M8000, here at CES. Wi-Max technology (IEEE 802.16e) provides broadbandlike connections anytime, anywhere and includes a broad range of converged services delivered from a single IP-based network. The Samsung M8000 resembles the Samsung SCH-i730 with its slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but the beauty lies within the phone. Through a series of apps, the M8000 can handle broadcasting, home networking, videoconferencing, video on demand, and more. Now, before you get too excited, the service--also called WiBro--is being rolled out only in Korea (yes, we know, we're teases), and there's no word on when and if this service will make its way stateside.
