With the success of the innovative Slingbox, many companies are jumping on the TV-to-PC video bandwagon. ADS Tech is trying to one-up the Slingbox magic with the Wireless TV Link. While the Slingbox concentrates on live streaming of home-video sources to any Web-enabled connection, the Wireless TV Link is focused on capturing video streams from any S-Video or composite-video A/V source, such as your cable or satellite box, to a PC on your home network. Another advantage: Unlike the Ethernet-only Slingbox, the Wireless TV Link has built-in support for 802.11g. If you're looking to archive TV shows to your PC's DVD burner, the Wireless TV Link could be the ticket. Pricing wasn't disclosed, but we should know soon enough; the Wireless TV Link is scheduled to ship on January 10, 2006.
