  Summary: I got this mackbook about 2 months and I'm really happy that I have it because it the thing that I was looking for; it has very good looking, really fast, large storage, and some other stuff. If you are looking for a laptop like mackbook pro and you don't have that much money this macbook is best choice for you. I had three laptops and I can say that they were good but each of them had some kind of problems. For example the processor was about 1.8 GHz or the battery that I could have was pretty much about 2hours which is not really good for me I wanted some thing really good because I use computers for 6 hours every single day and also it gives me about 4 hours of battery which I love it. When I bought this macbook, I also bought a stereo speaker and it has bluetooth too and it means all I don't need to plug any cable or any thing while the quality is the same when I'm like 15 feet far away from the speaker
  I bought this notebook because it has really fast processor and ram which I need to have, the reason is that I use photoshop a lot. next cool thing that I want to talk about is when I had my laptop the operating system was vista, I really wanted to have mac because it has iPhoto, and Photo booth ( one of the coolest software on mac), Dashboard, the thing that you can go to next screen by smack the monitor, and I can run Pcs software on mac by using booth camp ( the windows on mac is actually faster than the laptop I had before which it had 2Gb of ram). One other cool things are the trackpad and keyboard; the keyboard is flat which is really cool and also it looks better, and the trackpad that you can use two fingers to do some stuff like mac computer has only one click but if you put your two fingers on the trackpad and then click, it would be the right click which is very easier to use.
  And the last thing I want to say is that the processor of this is very fast. I've experienced this thing in the first day that I bought it. I was playing a movie on the secondary monitor (My HD T.V) and at the same time I was transferring 80Gb data which are Music, Photos, movies, and my other documents, and also I was downloading something out of internet ( also the modem is faster because it is 802.11 n), and every thing were going normally when I was watching the movie, It did not froze once at all while It was transferring my data about 18 mb/s which is really fast. I thing that I could not get any thing better than that.

I bought it from the apple store and upgraded to 4gb of RAM. This is a solid, reliable laptop. I had never owned a mac before and I'm glad i made the switch. OSX is a breeze to use, and in fact prefer it over VISTA. Opperating system's are a preference though, so don't take my word for it. Go try one out today at your local bestbuy, futureshop, circut city etc. I have had no issues with this laptop and am very happy with my decision.

  Pros: Quick, functional, beauitiful, sleek, abundance of things to keep you entertained, comfortable keyboard, soft/silent keys.

  Summary: Well, I switched from using PC's all my life because the mac was the best deal for college and what not. Some may think that the 13.3" screen is too small but it's perfect for travel and using it on the go (which is what I will be doing in college) because of its compact size and lightweight. The overall feel to the notebook is unmatched to any of the laptops I tested out at the local Best Buy. I was considering a Sony Vaio but after using the Macbook, the elegance and ease of use is just unsurpassed. Also, what pushed me away from the PC was the fact that all new PCs are running Windows Vista which doesn't compare to OSX Leopard. Leopard is such a simple to use, yet technologically advanced operating system. It will please the computer savvy AND the computer illiterate.
  The one thing I noticed right off the bat was that the computer runs very hot, and it's probably not a good idea to use on your lap :/ I won't be doing any lap work, but mostly using it on tables in the library and my dorm. The battery life's decent, definitely didn't blow me away or anything. I think once again they chose elegance over practicality by choosing such a small battery. But that wont bother me seeing as the tables I use in our library have their own power hubs to plug into. If you're switching to a mac from a PC, you may become rather vexed with all the new short cuts and key combos. I haven't even gotten most of them down. Although the command+space shortcut is rather nice because it allows you to search your whole computer quickly for a file you may have lost. This is something Vista doesn't have and without a desktop search function, it gets a little tidious.
  Another thing I noticed right when I took it out of the box is that there are only two USB ports. This is sufficient if you plan on buying a bluetooth mouse (don't buy the mighty mouse it's awful) but if you don't, it gets a little annoying. Mac users might not be annoyed because there is a firewire port...however if you switched from a PC, it's highly unlikely you have any firewire based devices (ipod connectors and external hard drives are both available in firewire).
  The macbook is available in 2-4 GB of RAM and I STRONGLY advise you to save the 200 bucks and go with the 2GB option. If you want that extra 2GB, go on eBay and buy it for 40 bucks and install it yourself in minutes. There is a tutorial on how to do it on the apple website. I don't know about you but I would much rather save that $160 for some gas cause it's getting so expensive!
  Compatibility with the mac has kind of become an issue. Programs like uTorrent aren't available for macs which is annoying because that's how I download most of my media. Also what completely blew me away is the lack of a paint program. How can this graphic design and artsy based computer not include a paint program? I do not know. I downloaded Acorn of the internet which is a mix between photoshop and MS paint. It works alright but it's definitely flawed, but I guess that's what you get with a free mac paint program off the net.
  The magnetic power adapter is very nice, however it does seem a little too strong to just pop out as advertised. I haven't tripped on the cord yet, but it will happen soon I'm sure. When typing on the keyboard, the edge of the book is really sharp so it causes a good bit of irritation. Right now right hand wrist is bothering me and I have a red line where it's rubbing. I'm not sure what captain magnificent steve jobs was thinking there, but that's a minor flaw.
  I can't think of much else to write about without getting into the actual operating system itself. Overall, I enjoy this machine and I would easily recommend if not preach it's excellence to others. I do hate those Mac vs. PC commercials though, why can't they just shut the hell up already haha?

I recommend upgrading the ram because they only sell you 2 x 1 GB ram when buying the computer. So if you want to upgrade to 3 GB, you lose 1 GB (4 GB, you would lose 2 GB). But everything on my mac has run flawlessly, I love it!!.. BTW, i came from a dell latitude d600 as my previous laptop; although i was issued ibooks in middle school/high school which i loved and which is why i decided to use mac instead of windows.

  Summary: This computer is not for the average buyer. The Black option only gets an added hard drive boost and color change for $200 more than the 2.4Ghz white MacBook. However, if you do have to money, opting for the black MacBook will give it a more special feel and the added hard drive space can definitely be put to use. A great buy! Especially for anyone who uses creativity with their computer. Also the Macbook actually runs Windows Vista faster than windows based pcs. Leopard is a beautiful easy-to-use operating system with so many innovative features it'll blow your mind. You will spend days just checking out all of the cool things to do with your new MacBook all for the cool price of $1499.
