Where's the iPad gone?

As many people mentioned, I'm a little dismayed by the iPad omission, especially for the flak it got for its name. Were you making a point of badly named products that failed, or just badly named products as a whole? Maybe some people are right in saying that most of CNET is biased towards Apple products.

@thebogusman

Maybe, CNET should just shut down and let you guys be the writers. You guys complain about every article that doesn't cater to your Apple-hating fantasies and still at the end of the day, nobody cares. Notice how crowded Apple Stores are all the time? That's not going to change because you whine all day on the internet.

Yep, just like all the analysts who thought it would never sell because it was just an iPhone with a bigger screen.

Meanwhile: Frozen Yogurt, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich could have all made the list. FroYo?

Obviously, TrekStor doesn't have any Blaxx people in employment in their marketing division.

It would have been funny if the iYiYi had an -O at the end (Read E-Yi-E-Yi-O)

No that should be "i Yi Yi_Yi, I am the Fritto Bandito".

TrekStor iBeat Blaxx - Funny as he ll. I laughed hard on this one. Did they really not say out loud what the title was before it launched?

It was a German company... it just never occurred to them what that product name meant in the US. Its a cultural thing I guess.

would be even funnier if they had appareal to go w/ it at booths, can see it now, shirts w/ TrekStor on the back and on the front "iBeat Blaxx" and they were giving some away...lol

I can't believe you have an article titled 20 worst named tech products and the iPad is not on this list. The iBeat Blaxx is the worst named but the iPad is for sure the second worst name for a tech product I have EVER heard.

I think Frogurt is equally, if not more, lame.

@irondog1970: Dude, how can you compare a mildly strange portmanteau to THE worst case of Engrish known to man? It's both funny and cringe-inducing at exactly the same time! There was obviously not even ONE American in the development and/or marketing departments at TrekStor.

Very appropriate.

In Finnish "rapea" is crispy, and "naekkileipae" is crispbread. Some decades ago a Finnish bakery tried to introduce a crispbread named "Rapea" into the American market, as it sold well in Finland. No success, what went wrong?

OMG. Cringe-making. I am glad Quikster gets a mention. I hated it before I found out what it was. I don't do video rental. But I CERTAINLY wouldn't use Quikster, just based on the name.

A DVD rental transaction would be called "quickie"

OK I am black! And let me just say before the overly sensitive start commenting...That is funny as hell!! I'm imagining the face on the German marketing exec who named the thing when he first got word.

iPad HAS to be one of the worst. Just say that to someone and they start to giggle. Is the upgrade going to be the iMaxiPad??

I quite like the name Que, actually. I can almost see Basil Faulty asking Manuel to fetch the Que.

Is anyone else asking, "Por que?" about "that"?

P.S. there should be an accent over the "e" in "Por que" but submissions can only use character on a standard English keyboard.

Tivoli iYiYi has to be the most hilarious one here -- pronounced "ay-yai-yai"!?

Obviously, the point of this article is to only make fun of the names of products that have failed or aren't taking off. Otherwise, iPad, and its obvious comparisons to feminine hygiene products would put it on the list.

Is the iPad really that bad of a name? A pad can be a drawing tablet, which is basically what the iPad is, so why is it REALLY such a bad name that you all think it should be on a list like this..

Apparently only unsucessful products with weird names count. Wii? iPad? SAMSUNG GALAXY SII EPIC 4G TOUCH?
Posted by linkgx1 (63 comments )

The Samsung Galaxy S II 4G is one of two (as far as I know up to date: 1/06/2012) that has the largest/strongest dual core/cpu at 1.5Ghz and the other I think is an Android and also dual core/cpu at 1.5Ghz. I don't know of any stronger in phone/multi-use products.
