  • Tue Apr 2 2002 PeopleSoft inks deal with Boeing

    PeopleSoft has signed a deal with a division of aerospace giant Boeing for its customer relationship management applications, the software company is expected to announce next week. Connexion by Boeing, a unit of Boeing that provides high-speed Internet services to commercial, private and government aircraft during flight, has agreed to purchase PeopleSoft help desk and customer support applications.

    Connexion has plans to launch its first major service trial with European airline Lufthansa later this year that will allow airline passengers to check e-mail and surf the Web while in flight. Boeing expects the PeopleSoft applications to give its customer service agents assisting aircraft customers detailed caller histories and interactive scripts.
